Box 17281 AGAST provides grief support to grandparents of SIDS victims via trained peer contacts (grandparents who have survived the experience) as well as support groups and outreach. First Candle is a national, non-profit health organization uniting individuals, families and professionals interested in finding ways to reduce SIDS and infant death. Southwest SIDS Research Institute Brazosport Memorial Hospital The Southwest SIDS Research Institute maintains a national database of SIDS information and infantile apnea episodes. They perform studies on how SIDS affects families. The Institute also provides consultation and technical assistance to organizations developing infant mortality initiatives and advocates for federal initiatives regarding infant mortality preventio. Peer counseling, support groups, counseling and referrals. Literature, educational materials and public service announcements are available. The MISS Foundation P.O. Box 5333 The MISS Foundation is a non-profit volunteer-based organization dedicated to the emergency and ongoing support of grieving families who've lost and infant or young child to any cause. The organization works to promote public awareness to decrease infant mortality and to educate on grief surrounding death. They run support groups around the country, advocate for legislation at the state level and provide a wide variety of memorials and information exchange for families.
