Donations The Georgia Sudden Infant Death Project is a non-profit organization focused on preventing infant death, and supporting families through their grief. Our purpose is exclusively charitable. Over 3,000 babies die nationally due to Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) and more than 125 babies die every year here in Georgia. Additionally hundreds of babies die from prematurity, and accidental causes. Georgia has one of the highest SIDS death rates and infant mortality rates in the county. As one of fifty affiliates of the First Candles/SIDS Alliance, we belong to the only national SIDS non-profit organization to provide comprehensive family and community risk reduction and infant injury prevention education, support services, organized state and national advocacy, and broad-based research. Your gift will go directly to help provide support to these bereaved families in addition to providing research and education services to help eliminate SIDS and other causes of infant death.
